Annie Armstrong Miyao,

Psychotherapist, LMFT

As a psychotherapist, Annie frequently works with individuals struggling with anxiety and the variety of ways it manifests. She has specialized training in psychodynamic theory, somatic experience, dream work, Jungian theory, and mindfulness. She received her Master's Degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Counseling Psychology

Through a holistic approach that includes a creative exploration of her client’s life experience, building an awareness of present mindfulness, reconnecting to the cues the body gives so as to build awareness around the mind-body connection, and reinforcing positive experiences she helps clients tap into the undiscovered potential, create change, and work through a myriad of issues.

Prior to her work as a psychotherapist,  Annie received a Bachelor's Degree from Trinity College in Theatre and Dance which led to an early career in the theatre. This study of story, relationship, expressions, and mind-body connection, honed Annie's ability to empathize and attune to the patterns of human experience and expression. It also contributed to her studying of Dreams and the use of other creative outlets as part of the healing process in the psychotherapeutic process.

Annie's writing has been published in places such as Vogue, Goop, Well + Good, and Mother Tongue Magazine. She has been a guest on several podcasts, consults with corporations on employee well-being and frequently contributes to Bustle as a source on dream minding. She is also the mother of three young children.

Annie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #93265) and a member of CAMFT
