Moving Forward after a Pregnancy Loss

Loss is an inevitable part of our lives and we will all experience loss at some point. The loss of a miscarriage or unwanted abortion is a specific type of loss that affects more women than we can imagine. It's the loss of something you have felt and yet never touched, it's the loss of a potential reality that didn't actualize, and the loss of a role that you were meaning to play. There can be a lot of grief associated with this loss and if you don' t allow yourself to heal and process the loss, it can lead to depression, distance in your relationship, and the suppressed emotions can affect your physical health.
Many women don't know how to deal with this and create coping mechanisms to fill this void, some of which can be extremely self-sabotaging. The most common coping mechanisms are either accentuating the void and feeling as if you have got a massive hole in your life, or filling it with something else that can be self-destructive, such as compulsive eating or over sleeping.
This workshop will help you to address those parts of you that are still suffering from the loss and haven’t come to full acceptance yet. We intend to create a safe and loving space for you to begin to face what you have lost, and allow yourself to feel the emotions that are suppressed inside with the support system of a facilitator who has been through the same as well as others around you. Once you allow yourself to finally process what has happened, you can come to a space where you are at peace with what's happened. We know that it's not about moving on, it's about honouring what happened and moving forward.
