I am Dr. Alyson McGregor MD, MA, FACEP, Professor of Emergency Medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and the Co-Founder and Director for the Division of Sex and Gender in Emergency Medicine (SGEM) at Brown University’s Department of Emergency Medicine.  I am also the author of Sex Matters: How Male-Centric Medicine Endangers Women’s Health—and What We Can Do About It.

• Get a clear understanding of your health - Let’s demystify your test results, prescription medications and diagnoses you have been given so you have a greater understanding of its impact on your life and next steps.

• Understand how to have helpful conversations with your providers - Most women do not feel seen, heard or believed by the healthcare system. I can show you how to plan ahead to create the best possible outcomes in your provider visits, hospital stays and other medical interactions including cultivating authentic relationships.

• Personalise your health care - I will provide insights and questions to ask your health care provider to ensure that you’re getting the best care based on your sex, gender, ethnicity, personal history, and current health situation.

• How to create your personal medical record - Having the most up to date and accurate medical record is more important than you might think. Let’s go over how to create an informed list of all your pertinent medical information that you can bring with you to all medical encounters.
